Burma’s pro-democracy leader is seeking to have her regular physician, Tin Myo Win, reinstated as her primary doctor, following her return to her home after being sentenced to 18-months of house arrest.

Nyan Win, one of Suu Kyi’s lawyer, told The Irrawaddy on Monday that since she returned home on August 11, the authorities sent another doctor to check on her health.

“She told officials that she wanted her family physician, Dr Tin Myo Win, to take care of her health,” Nyan Win said. “So far, I don’t think Dr Tin Myo Win has been able to visit her.”

Tin Myo Win was a leading pro-democracy activist during the 1988 uprising that toppled the 26-year rule of the late dictator Ne Win.

After the military coup in September 1988, Tin Myo Win became a member of Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy (NLD). In the following year, he was jailed.

He was the only regular visitor to see Suu Kyi during 2003-09, when he performed monthly check ups.

His is regular visits were suspended when he was arrested and questioned after  the American intruder John Yettaw entered Suu Kyi’s lakeside house in Rangoon in early May.

Nyan Win said Suu Kyi’s lawyers have asked the authorities to allow a meeting with their client to talk about an appeal of her conviction.

Last week, Suu Kyi asked clarification from authorities about one of eight conditions of her house arrest concerning visitors.

Suu Kyi was sentenced to 3-year imprisonment for violating the terms of her house arrest. Yettaw received a 7-year sentence. Her sentence was reduced to18-months under house arrest.

Yettaw was granted amnesty after US Sen Jim Webb met with Snr-Gen Than Shwe.

Let's see.

1) SPDC trumped up charge through Yettaw put DASSK where she is.
2) Sen J Webb visited DASSK, talked to the SPDC and NLD and returned with the imbecile Yettaw.
3) Sen J Webb then hints that DASSK might not be opposed to engagement.
4) DASSK immediately repudiated the "common ground" set up by Sen J Webb by clearly stating she opposes lifting sanction as well as discourage travel to Myanmar!

Tell me, does the chronological sequence of events that transpired prove DASSK is as intransigent as the SPDC?

Is she seeking martyrdom? If so, does having Dr Tin Myo Win really matter? Please give her what she deserves!

For continuing to advocate against engagement and lifting sanction. Maybe the reality of the real suffering of the people because of her advocacy needs to be imparted to her by Dr Tin Myo Win.

It is needless to say that Than Shwe will do whatever he plans to do, imprison DASSK, attacking NLD and U Win Tin, in preparation for the 2010 election.

What I haven't see these day is actions or reactions (expect statements) from the NLD and DASSK. They seem to waste time by doing legal apparel within the frame of Burma's corrupted judicial system.

This is the last chance for NLD to shown its ability to lead the country. I think DASSK and all NLD leaders will never get a place in politics after 2010 if they again fail to stand for the people. I agree they all sacrificed their lives to restore democracy in Burma but it will not count if they keep failing to act according with the will of the people.

It is time for action now or get lost...

Burma's military regime celebrated the general election in 1990. Daw Suu Kyi's NLD party won a landslide victory. So far we don't see NLD as an elected government.

Shamelessly the military will hold the election again in 2010. Junta's party must win in that election. If not, the military generals will hold the new election again.
Junta generals will honor Daw Suu Kyi eternal house arrest award. That is Burma at the time of sunset. Paradise is lost.

Now that Daw Suu Kyi has been placed under house arrest again at her own villa, the junta is stepping up another game, not allowing Dr Tin Myo Win to conduct medical checks on DASSK.

The junta will carry on to give trouble to DASSK time and again. Than Shwe is a communist, he is trying to harrass Daw Suu mentally. Now what again. He shows the outside world one thing and on the other hand he tightens up, imposes restrictions.

There is a saying: A leopard never changes its spots. Than Shwe is this kind of person.

I can foresee that the junta is on the verge of imposing restrictions on Dr Tin Myo Win. I will not be surprised Dr Tin Myo Win being taken in and a false case set up on him.

Than Shwe will instruct the Ministry of Health to take action on Dr Tin Myo Win in any means that they can. The MOH will frame up stories against Dr Tin Myo Win and eventually Dr Tin Myo Win's Medical Practitioner Licence will be revoked.

Than Shwe is out to get DASSK. Than Shwe is showing his breed.
