Dear Readers,
As a nonprofit organization, The Irrawaddy receives funds from individuals and private groups. We want to thank all our subscribers and donors for making our magazine and Web site so successful.
The past year has been a tough time for The Irrawaddy organization. We continue to expand and deepen our coverage of Burma and the Southeast Asia region. We now have 30 staff members including young reporters from the border region and inside Burma.
You have made it possible for The Irrawaddy to sponsor and support our writers and correspondents who are committed to gathering breaking news, images and in-depth reports inside Burma.
Your donations enable us to buy cameras and computers and facilitate trips to Burma and the border areas of Thailand, India and China. In addition, we update The Irrawaddy Web site daily with news, images, commentary and editorials, including increasing video coverage. The editorial department is supported by an extensive team of technical experts, designers and office staff.

The Irrawaddy believes in people’s rights to privacy. Please be assured that we do not provide details of donations to any third party.
People or organizations donating $100 or more will receive a certificate of appreciation for your commitment to The Irrawaddy and your support of press freedom in Burma and the region.
We know you appreciate our unique coverage and analysis. We pledge to continue to work to maintain our reputation as the most comprehensive and reliable news source on Burma. Become a part of the story. Support The Irrawaddy’s independent-minded journalists.
Thank you again for your support and encouragement.
