The country is so poor and left behind that ordinary people, even if they can afford to buy a car, have to contend with old run down bangers ready to fall apart. It is the same Generals and ministers who prevent imports of cheap, affordable, economical and safe cars from abroad for the sake of people. They took a huge commission (i.e. rampant corruption ) from a few importers like Tay Za and who sell at huge profit margins. Even people in India are able to afford small, modern up-to-date reliable automobiles at cheap credits. Welcome to the future of modern military-democratic, autocratic, Constitutional state of Burma where only the richest and the poorest will exist.
