Kurt Campbell, a former top US diplomat who until recently dealt with Burma, has started a consulting firm that joined a bid for a huge contract to overhaul Rangoon International Airport, Foreign Policy magazine reports. Campbell, the former deputy assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, started a firm called the Asia Group with his former deputy assistant secretary Nirav Patel. Corruption in the United States is appalling. Former US Officials frequently use the contacts they gained as a representative of the US to line their pockets with money later. There should be a US law preventing US Officials from engaging in directly related businesses for 5 years following their appointment. There is a law that should be looked into called the: Foreign Corrupt Practices Act but people are rarely ever taken to court for it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Corrupt_Practices_Act
