The head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said on Tuesday that he will travel to Burma in the near future to discuss the plight of Rohingya Muslims in the country. OIC Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said he will be accompanied by a delegation of OIC foreign ministers on the visit. “We have not canceled our pre-planned visit to Myanmar but it was postponed due to insecure conditions in the country,” Arab News quoted him as saying. He added that Burma, along with Palestine and Syria, will be high on the agenda during the upcoming OIC summit in Cairo.
