US President Barack Obama will discuss the deadly sectarian violence in Arakan State during his historic visit to Burma next week, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Wednesday. Clinton said unrest between Rohingya Muslims and Buddhists in Arakan would “of course” feature in Obama’s talks with Burmese officials, according to a report by AFP. Malaysia-based news agency Bernama earlier reported that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu had urged Obama to raise the issue of violence against Rohingya Muslims during his visit on Nov. 19.
